Bismarck Concert Outlook: Christmas Concerts Next Week

By: Taelor Halter

With the Christmas Concert upcoming the band director, Mr. Mayberry, and choir director, Ms. Burge, are pushing for a productive concert despite the challenges that COVID has brought forth. Mr. Mayberry plans to not use any Christmas songs for the concert; he will instead use more patriotic and “old-time sounding” songs. He hopes to bring a sense of perseverance to the concert to show that even though this year has been strange and unpredictable Bismarck refuses to let even a pandemic dampen our school spirit. Ms. Burge on the other hand hopes to spread Christmas cheer and shine a happier light on this joyous session with numerous winter holiday songs, mainly sung by the elementary students. The high school choir will be singing songs they have been working on all year. The elementary Christmas Concert is being split this year in order to provide a safer environment for everyone. Bismarck is taking every precaution it can to make this holiday a safe holiday.  Below are the times for the Christmas Concerts:

Pre-K – 2nd Grades – Tuesday, December 8th at 6 PM

3rd – 5th Grades – Thursday, December 10th at 6 PM

6th – 12th Grades – Sunday, December 13 at 2 PM
