Bismarck Art Program Has A Fresh Face

By: Mercedes Douglas

In the fall of 2020, Bismarck received a new face in the school’s art program.  Maribel Ramirez-Bohnenkamp was hired over the summer to replace Mrs. Bridget Anglin-Cooper.  Mrs. Ramirez-Bohnenkamp comes to us from West County’s after-school art program.  She also performed her student teaching in the Farmington School District.  Mrs. Ramirez-Bohnenkamp still does art on the side and enters local art shows too.  The Smoke Signal decided to ask her a few questions to get to know one of our newest staff members.

What do you like about the Bismarck R-5 School District thus far?
“I love that I have all the students throughout the year and how enthusiastic everyone is to learn so far.”
What challenges has this school year presented?
“One challenge has been trying to teach art to online students.”
What goals do you have for this year?
“One small goal is to improve my demo videos and content online so students can learn from them.”
What does your new position or title affect your day to day life?
“I have become a very busy individual.  I have to work to train myself to wake up and go to bed early in order to learn how to manage my professional, personal life, and family time.”
