Bismarck Athletes of the Week – 09/28 – 10/02

The Bismarck R-5 Athletes of the Week for this week are as follows:

Baylee Brewster – Varsity Baseball

Macy Sheckles – HS Volleyball

Jordan Ketcherside – HS Cross Country

Hunter Radford – JH Cross Country

Morgan Randazzo – JH Volleyball

Here is what their coaches had to say about their efforts and what they mean to the team.

Coach Chris Hayes – “Baylee is a hard worker and team player.  He always does what’s best for the team. Baylee is a great teammate.”

Coach Madison Dugal – “I would like to nominate my junior varsity captain, Macy Sheckles, for Athlete of the Week.  Macy is an extremely hard worker and always has a positive attitude. She holds herself, as well as her entire team, to high standards and is always looking for ways to improve. Macy, in general, is a quiet person but her leadership on the court does not go unnoticed. Macy is a great captain and teammate, she sets a good example for others and exhibits great all-around attributes of leadership, character, and teamwork. Having Macy on the team this year has been a pleasure, her commitment and work ethic make her the epitome of what a true captain should be. I look forward to watching this small, but mighty player continue her volleyball career here at Bismarck! Congratulations, Macy!”

Coach Colin Eaton – “Jordan is a competitor in every sense of the word.  Although he’s only been running cross country for 2 years, I am continually impressed by his drive and willingness to get better.  As a good athlete should do, he reacts to adversity with a great “no excuses” attitude, pushing himself to compete and work even harder. Jordan is a great teammate, holding himself and those around him accountable to high standards for the betterment of the team. We look forward to watching him grow as a leader and are expecting awesome things to come from this kid in the future!”

Coach Todd Varhalla – “Hunter Radford has continued to improve over the season.  Hunter finished 76th with a time of 14:38.  Radford improved his place and time at Oak Ridge finishing 51st with a time of 13:19.  Hunter has been improving all season.”

Coach Chelsea McFarland – “Morgan is a hard worker and a great volleyball player, but her biggest contribution to the team is her ability to be a good leader on the court.  She is always the first player to yell useful information.”
