Bismarck Gets a New Mechanical Shed

By: Belle Gibson

The Bismarck Smoke Signal staffer Belle Gibson sat down with Kenny Cole, bus driver/daytime maintenance worker, to talk about the new maintenance shed.  The shed is being built in the gated bus parking lot in the back of the school.  It should be a great addition to the district and help support our drivers.

The purpose of our new transportation shed consists of repairs for buses, maintenance, state inspections, and repairs during the winter. Inside the shed there will be tools for the buses, a breakroom, and a restroom for the bus drivers.

As far as a mechanic goes there will not be one present at all times, only when buses need to be repaired. This addition prevents the buses from having to be driven to Illinois, which saves money on fuel. The shed should be totally finished in late fall.
