Over the summer, a vacancy opened up in the I.S.S./Alternate School Building.  This opening brought with it a new opportunity and challenge for Mrs. Brooke Dugal.  She is another new addition to the Bismarck staff for the 2017-2018 school year.  Mrs. Dugal is an alumni member of Bismarck R-5 and was heavily involved with the school before becoming a staff member.  The Mass Media class had a chance to ask Mrs. Dugal some questions about her exciting new position.

How have your first couple weeks of teaching been?

My first couple of weeks have been exciting. I have only had a handful of students but so far, so good.

What made you become an ISS teacher?

I have worked in the district as a substitute teacher for eight years. As much as I enjoyed doing that, I began wanting a permanent position here. When the I.S.S position was posted, I applied with the hopes that this would be what I had been looking for.

What did you do before coming to Bismarck?

Before I started subbing, I was a pharmacy technician. I worked in a long-term care pharmacy for several years. I greatly enjoyed that line of work however, I felt as though I needed a change.

Do you enjoy being a teacher here?

I love working here! The staff is amazing and the students are a lot of fun to be around.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

While my main focus moving forward will be on the position we are discussing today, I am hopeful that I will be able to take on more and be apart of the new and exciting positions in the school.
