D.A.R.E. Graduation 2016

D.A.R.E. Graduation 2016

On Monday, December 19th at 1:30 pm, Bismarck Elementary School had 42 5th grade students graduate from the D.A.R.E. program.  From the D.A.R.E. website, the mission of the program is to teach students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives.

Students had to complete a 200 to 300 word essay about what they learned in D.A.R.E. class to be able to graduate. Deputy Gary Carver was their instructor and helped give out certificates at the graduation. He works for the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department. This was Deputy Carver’s 21st graduation at Bismarck. The two essay winners were Madison Dunn from Mrs. McFarland’s class and Will Clark from Mrs. Hawkins’ class.
