A teacher at Bismarck has just published his first novel.  High School Special Education teacher, Mark Reeves, has written a novel that will hopefully spark an interest in reading for other middle school students.  Below, you will find a testimonial developed by Mark Reeves on what influenced his decision to write Angus: A Story about Finding Home.

What possessed me to write Angus?

“I’ve seen so many students that hate to read. I remember my 4th grade teacher reading Where the Red Fern Grows to the class. That single book had me hooked on reading and I am so thankful for that! I wanted to write a book that could have that kind of effect on kids that haven’t developed the love of reading yet! I’ve had the story of Angus in my mind for a long time. I just finally sat down and put it on paper. I’ve read hundreds of books. There are only a few books that I still vividly remember and identify with the character. I hope my book has that kind of impact on people who read it!”
